Why Being Punctual Matters As A Working Student
By: Jessica Elayne Novadianto
Have you ever rushed to class right after work and arrived late? Or maybe you missed an important lecture because your shift ended late? As working students, we know how hard it is to balance our time and being on time in everything we do such as going to work and attending class. But, do you know if you are punctual, people will perceive you are responsible, discipline, and respecting other people's time. Because you are valuing time and the opportunity you are already given. Opportunities and time do not wait for no one, so respect and value it or you lose it.

It is really important to stay punctual as a working student, because it helps us handle both studying and working smoothly. However, if we come late to work, our boss might lose trust in us and we lose the opportunity in someone's trust. So, if we are always late when we are attending class, we are going to miss a lot of important lectures, and we lose the opportunity to learn new things from the lectures.
Therefore, if we are punctual people are going to see us as reliable both at job and campus. So, if you don't wanna be seen as a careless person I have some ways for you to stay punctual. Firstly, if you easily forget things you need to take notes and make reminders. Secondly, prepare things that you need the night before so you don't need to rush in the morning. Third one, know your priorities and plan your schedule to make better decisions. Lastly, give yourself extra time before attending class after work, so you need to finish all of your job tasks before your class time.
But at the end of the day, punctuality is not just you being on time. It is about you being responsible and respecting time as a working student. Time is limited, managing it will help you succeed in both work and study. Be punctual today, succeed tomorrow. [JEN]
