The Responsibility of Pet Ownership

As a pet owner myself, I have made mistakes too. When I got my first pet, I did not take full responsibility for it and relied on someone else to help me take care of it. Without knowing anything about my pet, I watched it live with suffering and die. After that, I realized that having a pet without fully understanding the responsibility is a big deal for any owner, whether it’s their first time or they are experienced. I want you to avoid the mistake that I made and to do proper research about the responsibilities of pet ownership.

Here is what I want you to know: The responsibility of taking care of pets is significant. First, you’ll need to know the definition of a pet. A pet is an animal that you adopt or buy to become your friend, family member, or just for fun. However, you’ll need to take care of it, so you must be sure you have thought about it for a long time beforehand because the responsibility of owning a pet is heavy and costly.

A.The Cost

1. Owning a pet can be costly. You’ll need to make sure to feed your pet every day, and over time, your pet will grow and you’ll need to feed it more than you did when it was little.

2. Remember, the size of your pet determines the space it needs to freely roam, similar to it’s wild habitat, to be happy and healthy.

3. Time and bonding with your pet are very important. Don’t forget to make time in your schedule to spend precious moments with your pet. It’s a living being, the same as you, so please take care of it with love and affection while it is in your care.

4. Always check on your pet’s condition regularly. Sometimes the unexpected happens without us knowing anything. Without proper research, your pet might be sick or dying. It’s important to quickly respond to any abnormal behaviour or a lack of attention.

B. The Benefits of Taking Great Responsibility for Your Pet

1. Your pet will live for a long time, and you will have a companion to cheer you up when you are feeling down.

2. You will become a more responsible person. It’s not just a pet that you learn to take care of; you also learn to care for yourself. In the future, the habits, discipline, ability to respond quickly to any situation, and hard work you develop will positively affect you.

3.Morale boost remembering you have a pet waiting at home made you want to go home early and meet your lovely pet. It boosts your mood and makes you happy for a full day. Even in bad times like harsh conditions or a bad day, it provides warmth and hope in your lives.

A pet might seem like just a small change in your life, and you might not feel its full impact while it’s alive. But when it’s gone, you will miss it deeply and always remember it being by your side during hard times and fun times. Everything has an end, but if you’re still alive and your pet is still with you, remember to cherish it before you regret it. (J.I.)
