Why I Like Chemistry Subject When in Senior High School?

When I was in senior high school in the 11th grade we had Kurikulum Merdeka. In this curriculum, there are optional subjects like chemistry. Learning chemistry is one of the optional subjects that students can choose. But in my class there were many students which made it difficult. They didn't like the subjects. After I asked some of my friends, I know there are many factors that made them feel like that. Like they got forced to choose this subject, because they didn't don’t know what subject that they would choose. Not only that, they thought this subject was hard or difficult, because in chemistry there are many compounds and formulas to be understood, and many new terms that we can find. But not me.

Different from my friends, I quite liked chemistry. This is because, when I study chemistry I feel I could get a lot of new things, such as compounds. Through chemistry I know about formulas for calculating the compounds present in every reaction. In chemistry there are elements, solution, law, and fact.

Of course the teacher's role is also one of the factors why I can like chemistry. The ways and methods of teaching which made it feel fun and easier to understand the materials along with courage for asking and answering in the class. Not only that, with many practices with my class mates, I really enjoyed it.

Perhaps, some students felt this subject wasis difficult and boring. However, chemistry became one of my favorite subjects when I was in my senior high school which gave me a lot of good memories and made me know more. I got friends, teacher, and experiences which feels meaningful, makes me feel developed and l confident. (S.A.)
