Why Exercise is Important

Six years ago, I always felt tired at school because I never liked doing exercise. I just sat at home, playing on my phone, watching movies on my phone, and it made me feel weak. One day, my uncle asked me to go cycling around the neighborhood. At first, I didn’t want to because I thought it would be boring and tiring. But after riding the bike, I felt so happy and full of energy. That moment made me realize that exercise like cycling is really important for my health and also for my mood.

Exercise is important because it keeps our body healthy and strong. When we exercise, our heart works better, our muscles become stronger, and our blood flows smoother. Exercise also helps us to reduce stress and makes us feel happy. Why? Because, when we are doing exercise, we can meet friends that maybe we never met before and do something together, making friends, and more. People who often exercise usually have more energy, a stronger body, and they can focus better in the class or in their daily life. In contrast, people who don't exercise often feel tired quickly, they will have a higher risk of getting sick easily.

In the end, I know that exercise like playing badminton, riding a bicycle or playing basketball is good for everyone. When people get old, exercise is very helpful because it keeps their body strong so they can move easily. That’s why being young or old, we all need exercise to stay happy and healthy. (JSH)
