THE BASICS OF BADMINTON BRIEFLY

By: Valen Rivaldo

Badminton is one of the sports that I find enjoyable. I used to play badminton often, but now I only play when I have the time. Usually, there are some people I don’t know who join the game, and most of them are friends of my friends. While playing, I sometimes notice, even without meaning to, that some of my friends are not very skilled at playing — such as how they hold the racket, their stiff posture, and the fact that they sometimes don’t pay attention to their position when the score increases. Sometimes I also make my own mistakes, such as moving positions, sometimes failing to return a smash, or other errors. Badminton is a game or part of a sporting activity that uses a racket as a hitting tool and a shuttlecock as a ball. Badminton also has fairly wide field and a net in the middle of the field. This game can usually be played in two types, it can be a team of two people who fight each other, and one team consist of four people divided into two against two. Of course two typical players have a clear visible difference, like player position, regulation, and different score counts.

Players must first understand how the game works, like how to hold the racket and how to hit the ball. Apart from that, you must control basic techniques, like service, smash, netting, dropshot, and leg movements. Badminton is a very effective sport for training reflexes, stamina, cooperation, and strategy. Apart from that, it can also burn calories, make you healthy and build body muscles.
