How Anime Is Different From Cartoons In Some Aspects

I have been a big anime fan since I was in 6th grade. The first time I watched an anime was Attack on Titan. At that time I realized that Japanese cartoons or anime are more exciting than normal cartoons. I think anime is very serious in making the story, not like cartoons that are only for entertaining kids. Anime can be for kids even adults. For me, anime is a part of my life because I really enjoy it from the story, art style, character personality, plot twist, and it makes me always ask what will happen next.

1. The story is unpredictable

For me, anime is different from cartoons in some aspects. The first one is the story. In anime, the story often cannot be predicted, so many anime fans like to make theories about what already happened. This makes you feel more excited than when you watch cartoons.

2. The art style

Anime has unique and detailed character design, for example the eyes, clothes, and some characters have dark backgrounds. This makes anime feel more emotional and more artistic. But cartoons focus more on comedy, with simple story and art.

3. Characters have deep background meaning

Not like cartoons where the characters usually don't have specific or detailed background, but in anime most characters have it. For example, the main character from "Uramichi Oniisan", Uramichi Omota. He is forced to work in a children's TV program. If we see his real life, he is 31 years old and already cannot have big dreams like other young people. But on TV he looks cheerful in front of the camera, but in the reality he feels tired of life and has no big dreams like young people. (D.T.)
