Music Can Help Me Focus

Everyone has different ways of staying focused when studying or doing assignments. Some people are comfortable in a quiet environment, while others find it more comfortable when listening to music. I’m the type of person who can’t be far from music and feel that music is beneficial as a study companion. At first, I just tried to get rid of the boredom of staring at books for too long. However, it turns out that listening to music can help me concentrate and calm down. 

When studying or doing assignments, I will play and choose soft music with a calm tempo. Usually, I listen to spiritual songs or songs recommended by the app. This kind of music makes the atmosphere feel more relaxed and helps me not to be easily distracted by noisy sounds around me.

Besides improving focus, listening to music also provides other benefits, it helps keep my mood stable. Studying and doing assignments can sometimes feel heavy, especially when they take a long time. That can change my mood. However, with music, I don’t feel pressured and feel more motivated to quickly finish my assignments. Music can be a motivator that relieves boredom in the learning process.

From that experience, I realized that music can be a strategy to improve study quality. Of course, the type of music chosen plays a significant role. Music with lyrics sometimes distracts me, but I still choose it occasionally just to enjoy the atmosphere. However, I mostly prefer instrumental music. Besides that, volume settings are also important. Because if it is too loud it can make me feel uncomfortable, so I want the volume not too loud but not too low, it remains comfortable and helps me stay focused.

In conclusion, listening to music while studying or doing assignments has really helped me feel more focused, calm, relaxed, and motivated. Although not everyone may be suited to this method, I recommend this method because it can be a beneficial alternative to create a conducive learning environment.
